International

The Department of Law of the University of Ferrara, among the leading Italian institutions in its field, is renowned for its strong emphasis on the European and international dimension of its study programme.

It is part of a small group of Departments of Excellence designated by the Ministry of University and Research: this important recognition was first obtained for the period 2018-2022 and renewed for 2023-2027. Besides confirming the high quality of the opportunities available to students, this recognition also ensures more resources and funding for important activities open to both national and international students.

We are committed to offering our students a wide range of opportunities to include international experiences in their curriculum. We are in close contact with our extensive network of international partners and we actively participate in student and staff mobility programmes

The PhD in European Union Law and national legal systems further enriches our educational offerings with regard to postgraduate studies.

Every year we welcome people from all over the world into our historic buildings in the centre of Ferrara. This beautiful renaissance city reverberates with university life and yet enjoys the safety of a small and quiet town; 20,000 students live in accommodations within the city (out of a population of 130,000 people) and can benefit from a wide range of services and opportunities for study, research, practicing sports and enjoying university life.

Lectures and conferences also give our students the chance to visit our Rovigo campus. Since 2019, the Department has been located in Palazzo Angeli, a prominent historic building in the centre of this historic town, 20 minutes by train from Ferrara.
