Visiting Researchers

The Department of Law regularly ranks among the top Departments of Law in Italy for the quality of its research. Several projects run by researchers at the Department have earned financial support in the framework of competitive EU and national funding programmes.

A number of research centres operate at the Department, the first among them being the Centre for European Legal Studies on Macro-Crime (Macrocrimes), which was established in November 2018 within the framework of a project leading to its recognition as one of the best Departments in Italy in terms of research quality (“Dipartimenti di eccellenza”). In addition, the Department hosts a major European Documentation Centre (CDE), set up under an agreement between the University of Ferrara and the European Commission, with the aim of disseminating information about the European Union in universities and research institutes.

Research Visits

The Department of Law regularly hosts foreign Visiting Researchers. Guest Researchers have access to the library and the electronic resources of the Department. Whenever possible, they are assigned a work station at the Department. The conduct of research in one of the areas covered by Macrocrimes is specifically encouraged.
